This is a great sipping drink for warm summer nights. Refreshing and light. It can be modified to be slightly spicy by adding one slice jalapeño to the shaker or a small jalapeño to the syrup recipe.
INGREDIENTS
- 1.5 oz. Ironworks Gin
- 1 oz. cucumber simple syrup
- 1 oz. lemon juice
- (Splash of soda optional)
- 2 cucumber slices as garnish
PREPARATION
Add all ingredients except cucumber slices to a shaker tin and shake well. Strain to remove ice chips into a tall glass with ice and garnish with cucumber slices floating on top. Add soda if desired.
CUCUMBER SIMPLE SYRUP
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 6 slices of cucumber
DIRECTIONS
Peel a cucumber and cut six 1/2 inch slices. Cut slices in half and set aside.
Add sugar and water to a small saucepan and stir on medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Add cucumber slices, reduce heat to low and cook for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit for 10 minutes to continue infusing. Strain through a fine mesh strainer to remove cucumber. Store in refrigerator.
