Starts with our own amber rum. Developed in 2012 to celebrate the refit of Bluenose II, this multi award winning spirit is a splendidly dark rum, rich ruddy colour with a blend of caramel & molasses and just a hint of spice on the tongue. It's become our biggest seller!
On March 26th 1921 Canada’s most famous schooner, Bluenose, was launched in the Lunenburg harbour. Bluenose was a source of great pride for Nova Scotians. Captained by Angus J Walters, her victories in international competition and appearance at the World's Fair in Chicago in 1933 were morale boosters for Canadians during the Great Depression of the 1930's. The ironwork for Bluenose (and Bluenose II) was made at the Walter’s Blacksmith shop (where Ironworks Distillery is located today).
