The year was 2012. Summertime in Lunenburg. After a few years being rebuilt in drydock, BLUENOSE II was about to be relaunched and we thought we should celebrate. This was the year we first created our signature black rum and we called it "BLUENOSE". It was only supposed to be a summer product, but lo and behold so many folks liked it that it stuck around. Now it's one of our best sellers and we dare not stop creating it! It all starts with Crosby's Fancy Molasses and after two or more years, we have Bluenose Rum. The recipe for "The Rogue Wave" is a shameless copy of Gosling's "Dark 'n' Stormy" but respecting their ownership of that name, we've adapted it to using our own black rum and the local favourite Propeller Ginger Beer.
INGREDIENTS
- 1.5 oz Ironworks Bluenose Black Rum
- 5 - 6 oz Propeller Ginger Beer
- Fresh lime wedge
- Ice
PREPARATION
Build the drink in a highball glass filled with ice. Garnish with a wedge of fresh lime. Enjoy!
(Sometimes we squeeze a wee bit of fresh lime juice in, for extra tartness!)
