Well they finally arrived. A fresh shipment of nice juicy barrels from Jack Daniels Distillery in Tennessee. Yum. We’re now awash in barrels here at the distillery – we’ll have to spend some time figuring out where to put them all – then fill ‘em up with rum and other amusements. First Pierre got down…

My horoscope declared that June 2009 would be all about real estate. And it didn’t lie. Our search for space in Halifax had been frustrating but we had finally settled on a little industrial park near Bedford, not special but certainly practical. However, before we signed the lease, our real estate pal from Tradewinds in Lunenburg, the ever persistent (and admitted vodka aficionado) Fran Shea, alerted us to the fact that the old Blacksmith Shop had dropped in price. “Were we still interested?”
