March 17, 2011 / Comments (2)
It’s possible that you have all noticed the presence of our animals in some of the photos on our website. For no better reason than the fact that it’s a grey rainy March day and I need a break from the frustration of making labels, I thought it would be amusing to tell you some…
Looking back and thinking ahead

Must be February – I find myself battling insomnia by cleaning out my email inbox at ungodly hours of the night. In so doing I came across an amusing interchange that I had back in early June last year, when we were in the throes of first bottling and dead terrified that the labels would…

Busy times on the road. We jumped from Catoctin Creek in Virginia on Thursday to Thomas Tew Distillery in Newport, Rhode Island yesterday. It’s great fun to see how the rest of our fellow distillers go about the solving of tasks that we’re so familiar with. Everyone so far is a lot bigger than we…

Wednesday through Monday 12 pm – 6 pm Closed Tuesdays. So this Tuesday was the first day we closed the shop since we opened in June this year. It felt very strange but mostly it was a relief to have a day off. We decided on Tuesday as a closed day in order to be…

We had a lovely visit today. Our friends from NS Tourism and Taste of Nova Scotia in conjunction with Taste of Nova Scotia came by with a group from the Culinary World Tourism Convention. We celebrated with a few treats created by Sandra from the LaHave Bakery outlet in Mahone Bay. She devised the sweets…
Old Friends

Nothing like being able to show off new ventures to old pals. Jonathan Hackett and Carol Lavoie – friends of ours from the old days in Toronto came to Lunenburg to see the sights, enjoy the town and chat about old times as well as sample the ‘product’ of our new venture. Lunenburg was looking…
